The Name and Web Address of My BlogGrandma Ideas
How Long I've Been Blogging and How Often I Post
I've been blogging for 2 years and I post 3-4 times a week, sometimes more.
Why I Decided to Become a Blogger
When our son and daughter-in-law told us they were expecting, I was overjoyed. I have always wanted to be a grandmother. (When I was little, I played at being a grandma!)
I immediately went to the Internet to find activities that I could do with grandchildren. I couldn't find what I had in mind. So, I decided to create my own website. I was sure that if I was interested in these types of activities, other grandmothers would be, too.
My vision for my site is to be able to share all sorts of ideas for activities that grandmothers and grandfathers can do with grandchildren to strengthen their relationship.
What I've Learned and What Rewards I Have Enjoyed
I am quite technological to begin with. However, I have learned a little bit about PHP coding. I've learned about plug-ins and how to install them.
I have really enjoyed 'meeting' other grandmothers. Even though I haven't met any of them face-to-face, I feel a bond with them. I have enjoyed reading their blogs and learning what they do with their grandchildren.
- Blogging is one way to stay connected to your family -- especially if they live far away.
- It's not as hard as you might think.
Susan Adcox, About.com Grandparents, says:
Grandma Ideas is an extraordinarily rich blog. Nina updates often, and she links to lots of other useful sites. She still takes time to share her views about grandparenting, and she has a sense of humor that makes visiting her site more fun.
