How Long I've Been Blogging and How Often I Post
I started my August 26, 2010. I try to blog at least 2-3 times a week.
Why I Decided to Become a Blogger
I have 12 grandchildren, and my oldest coined the expression that she shared with the kids at school: "My grandma isn't any ordinary grandma. She is the wild and crazy grandma!!" I love to write and had been planning to write a book for new grandmas. Because of new technology, I decided instead to start my blog. Being a grandmother for 16 years has given me the opportunity to share my successes and bloopers with other men and women. My vision is to share tools, resources, and creative ideas that can give our grandchildren stability, confidence, moral character, and ensure lasting relationships!
What I've Learned and What Rewards I Have Enjoyed
I have not been totally computer literate! I was forced to self-teach myself how to import JPG files, how to move "gadgets," how to import my personal music playlist, etc. In addition, blogging has opened up a new world for me, networking, and social interaction which has been so exciting! As my blog moved along, I increased the number of pictures and added music. I desire to create a visually pleasant blog, as well as having optional music while readers peruse the posts. Obviously, the information is foremost. I desire to give information in the format of personal experience. My personal experiences are framed in the context of creativity and humor.
Advice
- Respect your grandchild's personhood.
- Talk to your grandchild at eye level.
- Listen, really listen to what they say.
- Use your creativity when playing with your grandchildren.
- (Yes, you ARE creative)
