How would you describe your fashion look?
Age-Appropriate. I wear blazers and slacks. I prefer a modern classic look.
How do you achieve your look?
I prefer gabardine pants, wool or knit blazers, and bodysuits, which I design for myself. At my age now, I feel that colors are good but the look is always the same: pants or skirt, and jacket, with bodysuit. Only the fabric changes. In evening, I'll wear dressy, like silk or satin. Daytime, wool or knit. A person's coloring determines what color she should wear.
Tips and Tricks
- I try to accentuate my hips which are narrow by wearing straight pants and my blazers are structured so that I have a smaller bosom which is more flattering to my shape.
My Taste in Jewelry
Limited to earrings, one ring, a marriage band. I prefer not to wear bracelets because I wear long-sleeved jackets and bodysuits and I do not roll up the sleeve. I love costume jewelry that is in good taste, such as KJL. I like big pieces.
My Take on Shoes and Handbags
I am limited in my shoe collection because I have difficult feet. My selection is extremely limited. I wear large handbags to go out at night but during the day I have decided that smaller is better and microfiber is best of all, because it is light.
More Fun Accessories
I have a collection of newsboy hats for daytime and I wear scarves and pins on my jackets. Basically, I choose those clothes that have a certain classic, elegant look. I stay away from fads, plunging necklines and clingy fabrics.
What I'd Never Wear
I don't wear dresses anymore because you need pretty shoes and I can't wear them.
