On the third day of Christmas
My grandparents sent to me
Sweet Yule tales. . .
Here's another gift that's better given before Christmas: holiday storybooks. My family's traditional favorites are Mr. Willoughby's Christmas Tree and Santa Mouse. Both are out of print but can be found via Internet search. A Grandma Like Yours / A Grandpa Like Yours is a good choice for Jewish families. It's not specifically for Hanukkah but does include some of the traditions, and it has a unique and clever format.
If you prefer books that can be enjoyed all year, two music classics from the 60s have been turned into children's books. Blowin' in the Wind is my pick, but those who like pop-up books may opt for Puff the Magic Dragon. Long-distance grandparents can ship these or other books directly to the grandchildren. A Hallmark Recordable Book is another great option, but Grandma or Grandpa should record the book before shipping it off. Seven holiday titles are available this year.
