Tennis rackets and tennis balls are high on my list of sports equipment for a grandparent's house. The grandkids can build their skills right on the driveway. Start by tossing the ball to them and letting them swing away. As they get better, you can pick up a racquet and bat the ball to them, or they can play wall ball with a garage door or the side of the house. Getting fresh air, building coordination and burning calories--that's a grand slam for grandparents and grandchildren. Kickball, hopscotch, jump rope and four-square are other favorites at my house. Jump rope is especially fun with old-fashioned jump rope rhymes.
What sport that can be played at home do you and your kids or grandkids enjoy?

One of our favorite ways to get the kids running around is to set up race courses where they have to run around trees, jump over buckets, do somersaults. Making it so that it was on the verge of almost too complex to remember made it funny and lots of fun.
Younger children love hitting plastic baseballs from a tee. Croquet is fun, too!
My kids love riding their bikes and playing four square. I love tennis and hope to teach my kids soon.
Great picture! My kids played tennis in the driveway, kickball, soccer. They also loved playing their versions of hide and seek.
What a great picture!
Hula hoops and jump ropes are 2 of our favorites!
Nice shot. You’ve got to be ready and quick to get pictures like that.
It take a lot of shooting to get a cool picture like this. Thank goodness for digital photography.
Amen, Reno. In the old days, when you used film, you didn’t have deletes and do-overs. When your film was gone, you were done. It’s much easier to get a great shot today.
Jump rope and shooting hoops were our favorites as kids. I just have to wait (and I’m in no hurry) for my grand-kids to get big enough to play these games.
Sounds like a great way to improve hand-eye coordination, too. I also like badminton.
