Fall is a spectacular time for photography. The harsh glare of summer is gone, and the vivid leaves create a perfect backdrop, making photographing grandchildren a snap. Getting a good Halloween photo is not nearly so easy. Bizarre lighting plus hyper-excited kids can result in sub-par photos, but Liz Masoner, Guide to Photography, has helpful Halloween hints. Whether you're going for gorgeous or ghoulish, a few tips can make all the difference.
What's your biggest photography challenge?

My youngest son is the hard one. If I’m lucky, I get a couple of photos before he starts crying or runs away.
Lovely picture.
My biggest challenge is organizing all my photos. That and getting my teenaged son to quit making faces and fooling around in photos.
My biggest challenge is shooting indoors — especially in our living room where the lighting tends to be yellowish. Flash photos are just never as good as outdoor shots.
This is a wonderful time of year for photos. The one featured in your blog is particularly beautiful, and I’m sure any grandparent would be proud to put this one up on their wall.
A lovely photograph, I love how the petals pick up the pink of her lips. I think success photography has to do with composition and understanding (digital) shutter speed Last weekend my attempts to photograph my active little 2 1/2 year p;d granddaughter with a new camera mostly came out blurred.
She’s gorgeous and the photographer evidently makes her terribly relaxed. Great photo. Greatest photography problem — getting the iphone not to wobble when I press the button.
Beautiful girl! Wonderful idea to take pictures in the fall however we rarely see our grandchildren this time of year. Usually they are caught up in school activities and don’t visit as often. We are gathering at my daughter’s for Thanksgiving and I’m hoping to have a new camera for that occasion so maybe I can get some great shots.
