Wordless Wednesday: Short Stop

Shortstop seems to be the perfect position for this little boy with baseball and glove.

What position is this little one playing? Shortstop, you say? He has the short part down and the stop part, too. At a later date he can master the finer points of the game, helped along by grandparents in his cheering section.

What sports have you most enjoyed watching your children and grandchildren play?

Terrific shot of a little superstar!
I loved watching my kids play soccer when they were small. Organized chaos, it was cute!

Which sport, you ask? Comedy Sportz, of course.

My son just finished his first T-ball season. My favorite part was watching him run the bases. He would take off in a sprint toward the next base, but about halfway there he would start skipping. I got video of him running the bases every single time he hit the ball because it was so funny to watch!

Having a big Italian family, I’m constantly going to kids’ sporting events, including cheerleading, gymnastics, Little League, softball, and lacrosse. My favorite, however, is soccer. Our family is from Italy, and soccer is the national pastime there. Although we’re all fans of American football, too, the kids all play soccer. And it’s great fun to watch and sometimes to play with them.

I tried to teach them how to play basketball and get them to watch college football on TV.

So far sports are not high on Amara’s list of things to do but then they weren’t on her Mommy’s list either but I have certainly been enjoying watching her learn to skate and hoping with summer we will get to do even more of it.

Very cute photo!

Soccer has been the most fun to watch, because the action is non-stop and pretty comical. My son does better at T-ball because he understands that both teams get a turn at bat and in the field. At this age, having fun and getting exercise is what’s important!

To be honest, Little League was one of my least favorite parts of parenting. Soccer and lacrosse have been much more fun to watch.

I’m not even a baseball fan, but I do like to see kids get excited about playing and having a good time.

Love the photo. Who doesn’t like to look at beautiful babies? The chubby cheeks and and pudgy fingers are so perfectly formed. Beautiful!

Awwe, he’s so adorable, I have a (ancient by now) photo of my son that age with an almost identical expression of innocence, blond hair and chubby pink cheeks.
